AM I REAL?

MELINDA WIPPLESMITH PLANK

When I discovered printmaking. I was elated. Finally, a medium that took my meticulous drawings and transformed them into something earthier and more evocative than I had the wisdom to do myself. Not only that, but I could make multiple copies without compromising the original image. It makes me smile.

I love printmaking because the possibilities are endless and the images have a more powerful presence as non-essential elements are removed to clearly convey a feeling. To me, prints create a visual haiku poem.
